Twenty-One Basics – Part 1

The basic premise of the game is to be assigned cards totaling up to 21. Every player is given two cards. When a black jack player is given a nine or less and an Ace they have been given a soft hand. When the blackjack player receives no Ace it is called as a hard hand. Once the cards have been dealt all players at the table, which includes the dealer, each black jack player is provided the chance to make 1 of six choices:

Taking another card (Hit): When a player says hit me the dealer will deal them another card, if the adding of that card causes the value of the hand to exceed twenty one the blackjack player will have lost and be excluded from the game, if the card makes the value of the hand to twenty-one the black jack player is the winner and if the total hasn’t yet achieved twenty-one they’re still in the game.

Keeping the hand you’ve been given: If a black jack player is happy with the cards they’ll stay. Once this has happened the croupier will display their hand and the blackjack player who has accumulated twenty-one or the closet to twenty one will come away with a win.

Doubling Down: A player may request to double down which doubles the wager they have placed. As soon as you have taken this procedure you can only receive 1 more card. The specifics of doubling down are often out lined by the blackjack table or casino game rules so prior to gambling be certain you’re familiar with the house rules. If you’re wagering at an internet betting house this is normally very simple.
